Chess’Mia James was born in New Rochelle, New York but transitioned to Atlanta, Georgia in the late 1990’s. After graduating from Georgia State with her Bachelor's in Communications, Chess'Mia obtained a master's degree in Business Administration & Leadership from Central Michigan University in 2018. While embracing educational convictions, this venture to teach and empower became a highlight for Ms. James, as she held a 3.8 GPA, which allowed her to be recognized as Magna Cum Laude. Since her Master's degree, Chess'Mia has obtained her certifications in Early Childhood Care Education, Infant/Toddler Child Care Specialist, and Early Childhood Program Administration in 2021. Ms. James believes that, “This venture geared up new hopes and desires."

 

James' passion for Education ignited when she began teaching her toddler educational fundamentals. After discovering this, James' way of teaching landed her toddler with the ability to recognize numbers, letters, colors, and shapes. By the age of one, she could properly place them all on the learning boards. 

 

James States, “I give all the credit to my toddler because she pulled it out of me. I found myself purchasing learning tools weekly from various sources because I wanted my toddler to learn everything." After sharing her daughter's progress on social media, mothers and other women who were inspired by her passion to educate her daughter, began to contact James for assistance. Not giving it much thought, that changed quickly for James when she realized some kids could benefit from her teaching methods.

 

As a result, James pivoted her customer service career where she spent the last ten years and decided to give it up to pursue a newly discovered desire and passion. James states, “From training my own to sharing the excitement with the world, a seed for KSA Academy was planted." Ms. James is currently pursuing her second Masters Degree in Elementary Education at Augusta University. As a learning advocator, Ms. James enjoys teaching the next generation everything they need to learn in order to have a  great step ahead for their educational career.
